We are pleased to share the next important stage in setting up AROS. Following the recruitment campaign for the founding CEO (or Co-CEOs) in July, we are now advertising three further key roles that will form part of the organisation’s core team. These roles are central to establishing AROS as a community-led organisation that drives systemic change. Together, they will ensure that AROS has the strong foundations needed to deliver on its ambitious vision.
The Operations Manager will be responsible for making sure the organisation runs smoothly, with the systems, resources and processes in place to support both staff and community involvement.
The Policy and Research Manager will lead the development of AROS’ evidence base, building knowledge on racial inequality in Scotland and turning research into practical insights that can inform practice.
The Community Engagement and Communications Manager will ensure that AROS is shaped and guided by those most affected by racism, creating meaningful opportunities for participation and building a strong, visible presence nationally.
Recruiting these roles following that of the CEO will allow AROS to begin its journey with a team that reflects its values of inclusion, transparency, co-production and community voice. Together, this founding senior team will establish the culture and approach of the organisation, ensuring that it sets up in a way that is sustainable, accountable and rooted in community.
As with the CEO post, we are committed to an inclusive and accessible recruitment process. We encourage applications from people with a wide range of backgrounds and experiences, including from activism, community work, research and public life.
This is an exciting moment. With these roles, AROS moves closer to being ready to take forward its mission: creating a national evidence base on racial inequalities, amplifying the voices of those most affected, and driving forward meaningful, systemic change.
We encourage you to share these opportunities widely, and to keep following these updates as AROS takes shape. With each new step, we are building an organisation that leads with community, and works for racial justice at every level in Scotland.
